Organizations continue to struggle to comply with hearing protection requirements, while not isolating its employees and increasing the difficulty of their activities and communications during constantly varying work activities. This presentation discusses options to improve actual hearing protection by improving user training. It will also cover several common technologies to improve the communications of employees working in low, moderate and high noise environments.

Tim has been a Certified Safety Professional since 1988 and is currently the Hearing & Communications Specialist for the 3M Personal Safety Division’s Great Lakes & Ohio Valley Region. He is a government, healthcare, hearing & detection specialist and one of of six Peltor Hearing & Communications Specialists. He leads 3M’s regional efforts surrounding Hearing Health promotion in Manufacturing, Food Processing, Construction and State/Regional/Local units of Govenrment including First Responders. He also supports customers working to provide protective hearing & protective communication solutions which improve the effectiveness of their workforce in delivering consistent quality work outcomes while improving their safety, speech discrimination and auditory situational awareness. It is his professional goal to assist our channel partners and customers in promoting and improving employee’s respiratory and hearing health, as well as enhancing communications for personnel who operate under difficult environmental conditions.
