The construction industry has the second highest rate of suicides of any industry in America. Because of that fact, suicide prevention needs to be the next frontier for safety. We’ll take a look at more data, but more importantly, we’ll go over resources and steps that any company in any industry can take to build a culture of care, wellness and suicide prevention that impacts everyone – from the jobsite to the office.
Paul Lawson, Project Controls Coordinator & Lead Mental Health Advocate

Paul Lawson is a project controls coordinator at Mid-City Electric / Technologies where he assists many departments, including accounting, project management and purchasing. In addition to this role, he is also the lead mental health advocate, where he educates the field team about the importance of mental health and the resources available to them. Paul visits jobsites, giving Toolbox Talks to construction crews, working to reduce the stigma around mental health. His passion to inspire and uplift others makes him a natural fit for this role.
